The SOGo mailbox can be synchronized in several ways:
- Exchange ActiveSync (email, calendar and contacts)
- IMAP / SMTP (email only)
- POP / SMTP (emails only)
When using IMAP or POP protocols, it will still be possible to use the CalDAV protocol to synchronize a calendar.
The server name to be used will always be the same, namely :
mail.sogomail.eu
1. Exchange ActiveSync Configurations
Choose manual configuration :
Then, choose Exchange ActiveSync :
Then, fill in the fields as shown in the example below:
An automatic connection test is performed by Outlook :
The configuration is complete.
2. IMAP or POP configuration
Be careful, the POP protocol will only keep on the server the last 14 days of mails. The rest is kept only on the computer used
Choose the type of synchronization :
Then, just fill in the fields with the information related to the mailbox
Please note that it is better to activate the authenticated SMTP in more settings as shown below:
The last tab allows you to enter the ports to use and the associated encryption.
Several configurations are possible but it is recommended to opt for SSL encryption:
IMAP/SMTP without encryption : Port 143 (IMAP) and Port 587 (SMTP)
IMAP/SMTP with SSL encryption: Port 993 (IMAP) and 465 (SMTP)
POP/SMTP without encryption: Port 110 (POP) and Port 587 (SMTP)
POP/SMTP with SSL encryption: Port 995 (IMAP) and 465 (SMTP)
An automatic test is performed by Outlook to check the right configuration:
3. Calendar Synchronisation with CalDAV protocol
Please note this setting will be useless with a mailbox synchronized with Exchange ActiveSync
Outlook does not support the CalDAV protocol natively.
It will be necessary to install an add-on such as the free CalDav Synchronizer software:

Once installed, a new menu will be available in Outlook :
Then, you must create a synchronization profile by clicking on the icon as shown below:
Then click on the green cross icon as shown below:
Then select the SOGo profile type as shown below:
Then, you must fill in the fields as shown below:
If the calendar does not appear in Outlook folder, simply create one by clicking on new :
Select ‘Calendar Items’ folder as shown below:
Then, just click ok and select the new folder as “output folder”
For the field url to use, just enter this one: https://cloud.sogomail.eu/SOGo/dav/
Then, just click on test
If the test is correct, the following windows will appear:
Then simply save the profile.
The automatic synchronization frequency is set to 5 minutes.
However, the synchronization can be forced simply by clicking on the icon below:
4. Contacts Synchronization with CardAV protocol
The process is similar to the calendar process.
The only difference is about “output folder” which must be ‘contact’ type, as shown below:
