Thanks to the synchronization with the Thunderbird email client, you can synchronize emails but also the calendar and the address book.
Thunderbird natively supports all types of synchronization: POP, IMAP, SMTP, CalDAV and CardDAV.
1. Configuration with IMAP or POP
Be careful, the POP protocol will only keep on the server the last 14 days of mails. The rest is kept only on the computer used
Enter the full name, the email address and the associated password.
Then click on « Configure manually »:
Then, enter all the information related to the mailbox as shown on the screen below:
Do not test the configuration but click directly on « Done ».
The configuration of the mailbox is finished.
Please note at this point, it is possible to continue the configuration of a calendar and/or an address book simply by using the links as below:
2. Address Book Configuration with CardDAV protocol
It will be necessary to have the email address and the CardDAV url.
Here, it will be:
https://cloud.sogomail.eu/SOGo/dav/test-support@alinto.eu/Contacts/personal/
Just transpose with the right email address
Click on continue
At this step, just enter the password :
Click on OK
The window below confirms that the address book is detected and now configured in Thunderbird:
Click on continue
3. Calendar Configuration
Click on Connect to a remote calendar:
Then choose « On the network »:
Then click on Next and enter the email address linked to the calendar and its url.
Here, it will be:
https://cloud.sogomail.eu/SOGo/dav/test-support@alinto.eu/Calendar/personal/
Just transpose with the right email address
Then click on « Find calendars »
The password is requested:
The window below confirms that the agenda is detected, click on Subscribe
The configuration of the calendar is now complete.
The configuration of calendar and/or address book belonging to another mailbox will be on the same way.
The only prerequisite is to have the necessary permissions given by the owner of the source mailbox.
